Don't worry, guys, contrary to popular belief, Sake and Chips is still online. Decided to take a little break yesterday for some much needed R & R, but now I'm back. Miss me? I know you all did. Expect some more updates tonight.

Hey, I can dream, can't I?

A picture is worth a thousand words pt. 1
As a fan of anime, one of the things that strikes me the most about this wonderful genre is the art. I mean, let's face it, most of this stuff wouldn't look as good if it were live-action. So, while Sadamitsu The Destroyer certainly ain't nothing to write home about, the artwork in the opening sequence struck me as some of the most beautiful I've seen in a while, hinting at the much better series Koichi Ohata had planned, have the budget allowed. As it stands, it is merely above average. This is my tribute to Anime Work's latest release. Straight from the opening, bokuto in hand, Sadamitsu himself, standing under a torii, ready for action. Enjoy!

Better get a dictionary, I think there is a new definition for badass!

The 'space race' is on! Who will reach the moon first? Back in the 60's, the United States got the upperhand when Neil Armstrong got out of that lunar lander, but these days, China and Russia might just give NASA a run for it's money. China is already busting out the heavy artillery with ambitious plans that include satellites, probes, and even manned space flights. Not to be left behind, Russia made the bold claim it could put a guy on Mars in just 10 years at one tenth the cost of the US space plan. With Bush laying out the cards regarding men's return to the moon, it appears the whole world has caught 'space fever'. Who will be the first up there? I don't know, but in the immortal words of Judge Mills Lane, "let's get it on!"

Tetsuwan Atom makes his grand return!
And mind you, as a fan of the great (and sadly, late) Osamu Tezuka, I couldn't be happier! His greatest achievement, Astro Boy, is coming to our shores this week in his latest incarnation, a 25 episode TV series produced by the guys at Sony Pictures. Looking for some classic anime action? Even after 40 years, the " Manga no Kami-sama's" lovable 100,000 horsepower hero still delivers. Don't miss his return to stardom this Saturday, at 8:30 a.m. et, on Kid's WB!

Feel the wrath of Astro Boy's ass!

Everquest who? Final Fantasy what? The next big thing is coming, and it's from Korea. The most succesful MMORPG to date, with nearly 2,000,000 subscribers in Korea alone, Lineage, is getting a sequel, and if you thought that looked good, just wait until you smell what NCsoft is cooking. Character design is gorgeous. The story is hot. And mind you, from what I hear, combat is a thing of beauty. Can you imagine hundreds of players participating in an online castle siege? Try not to wet your pants. Thinking of upgrading your PC? The Unreal engine never looked better. Come this April, prepare to say good bye to your friends and family. Lineage II: The Chaotic Chronicle is set to take the world by storm. Join the revolution or be destroyed by it. It's your choice!

The world just got smaller.
I just saw this on CNN. Thought it was cool, so decided to post it. From the people that brought you KaZaA, home to some of the best free porn on the net, comes Skype, the "new must-have application" for 2004, with 5,645,855 downloads and counting. Real P2P telephony, now just minutes away. Too good to be true? Some say maybe, but hey, it's free, and so far, it works. Join the VoIP revolution today!

Unless you have been living in a cave for the past year, you probably already know Square-Enix is hard at work on the Final Fantasy 7 sequel, Advent Children, coming out this summer on the Land of the Rising Sun, with a US release following suit. However, this isn't a new game a la FF X-2, like many of us thought, but rather, a CG movie, much like Square Pictures' own Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within or the more recent Final Flight of the Osiris. Of course, most of you already know that, so why the post? Well, mostly because I recently stumbled upon this nice, little site called Advent Children.net. A true Advent Children encyclopedia, whether you are Shin-ra or Avalanche, if you are looking for the latest news on this masterpiece, they are your guys. Pay them a visit today!

Well, for reasons I won't try to question or even comprehend, I suddenly remembered the ol' Toonami video special that aired a couple of years ago. Yeah, you remember. Gorillaz got a big chunk of screen time with 3 videos, back when the "band" was big and still making headlines. The Toonami vids weren't half bad either. Anyone remember Walking Stick? And let's not forget the Daft Punk videos, true masterpieces of Japanese animation directed by the man himself, Leiji Matsumoto. Yeah, those were the days. But a video laid forgotten in the back of my mind. The last one, if I remember correctly. Nothing big, or fancy, mind you, it was just a claymation piece. "More", if I'm not mistaken. It portrayed a bleak future where happiness was something you bought and unhappy workers spent countless hours trying to assemble it. The tune. A weird song by an unknown band. "Hellbent" by Kenna. A hopeless melody that perfectly described how I felt back then. Somehow, it gave me hope and inspired me to keep on going. Will it do the same for you? I don't know, but I felt like sharing.

Meet Kenna

Hot Jewish babes are just a click away!
Odd as it may sound, it's true. I found this so curious, I just had to post it. This is actually one of the many ads that plague BlogDrive's free accounts. Looking for some Jewish love? J-Date has got you covered!

Have you made out with your sister lately? If your answer is 'yes', then you, my friend, are a sick bastard! You can also relate to one of the characters from Eurotrip, the newest movie from the guys behind Old School and Road Trip, coming this February, from Dreamworks. Nudist beaches, prostitutes, and Dawn and Xena getting nasty. It's fun for the whole family!

"Dude, that's your sister!"
